Renovating a property in Corfu

What you need to know before buying a renovation project in Corfu, from permits to realistic budgets.

Is the property legal?

Many older Corfu houses have additions that were never formally declared. Before buying, your engineer should review the building permit and confirm everything that exists on site is included, or can be legalised under current laws.

Realistic renovation budgets

Renovation and construction costs vary widely with scope, access and finishes. We prepare a detailed budget once we have surveyed the property and understood your brief.

Coastal projects, listed buildings and remote sites typically need a higher contingency.

Timing

Local builders are heavily booked May to October. Plan to start works in the autumn and aim to finish before the next summer.
